About Us

Building strong foundations for lifelong learning and success

Our Mission

"To nurture curious minds and caring hearts, helping children grow into joyful learners for life."

Our Vision

To create a world where every child experiences the joy of discovery, develops a lifelong love for learning, and grows into a confident, compassionate individual who contributes meaningfully to society.

Founder

Founder's Note

At Curious Early Years, our journey began with a simple question:

What does a child truly need in their earliest years?

Not more pressure. But time, trust, safety, and wonder.

Childhood is not a phase to rush through or "prepare" children for the future—it is a sacred period of life in itself. The early years are when children form their deepest relationship with learning, and with the world around them. When this relationship begins in joy, curiosity, and emotional security, learning becomes a lifelong companion rather than a burden.

Curious Early Years was created as a space where children are allowed to be children—where play is honoured, questions are welcomed, and every child is seen, heard, and respected.

Our educators walk alongside children as gentle guides. We believe that when children feel safe and valued, they grow naturally.

To the parents who trust us with their child's earliest steps into learning: thank you. We see you not just as caregivers, but as partners in this beautiful journey.

At Curious Early Years, we promise a right beginning.

With warmth,
Deepa Rani
Founder, Curious Early Years

Our Philosophy

At the heart of our approach lies a simple yet profound belief: children are naturally curious beings. We nurture this innate curiosity through our framework of The 5 Curiosities.

Curiosity About Self

Who am I?

Emotional intelligence, self-awareness, personal interests

Curiosity About Others

Who are you?

Social skills, empathy, diversity appreciation

Curiosity About Nature

How does our world work?

Scientific exploration, environmental sensitivity, sensory learning

Curiosity About Creation

What can I make?

Artistic expression, problem-solving, imaginative play

Curiosity About Patterns

How do things connect?

Mathematical thinking, language patterns, logical connections

Core Philosophy

"By honoring and nurturing these five curiosities, we create an environment where learning becomes a joyful adventure of discovery. Each child's natural wonder becomes the compass guiding their educational journey, helping them grow into confident, compassionate, and creative individuals."

Academics By Vervidia

Our pedagogy is rooted in the belief that early childhood is not preparation for life — it is life itself. Children learn best when they feel safe, seen, valued, and free to explore.

Play-Based Learning

Play is the primary mode of learning at Vervidia. Through free play, guided play, and imaginative exploration, children develop cognitive flexibility, emotional regulation, social understanding, creativity and problem-solving skills. Play is not a break from learning — it is how learning happens.

Theme-Based & Integrated Learning

Learning experiences are organised around meaningful themes that connect children to their world — such as nature, seasons, animals, community life, and everyday experiences. These themes are explored through stories, conversations, art, music, movement, role-play, and hands-on exploration.

Role-Play & Dramatic Play

Carefully designed dramatic play spaces allow children to step into different roles — family members, helpers, storytellers, builders. Through role-play, children develop social and emotional understanding, language and expression, empathy, cooperation, and confidence.

Sensory & Experiential Learning

Children learn best when their whole body is involved. Sensory experiences such as sand, water, clay, natural materials, textures, and outdoor exploration support brain development, sensory integration, emotional regulation, and deeper understanding of the world.

Art, Creativity & Aesthetic Expression

At Vervidia, art is not about producing identical outcomes. Children are encouraged to explore drawing, painting, collage, clay, music, and movement as forms of self-expression. Creative experiences strengthen fine-motor skills, imagination, emotional expression, and confidence in one's ideas.

Storytelling, Rhymes & Circle Time

Language develops through listening, speaking, and shared meaning. Daily storytelling, rhymes, songs, and circle time enrich vocabulary, strengthen listening skills, support attention and rhythm, and nurture social connection. Language is experienced as living and joyful, not instructional.

Social & Emotional Development

Emotional wellbeing is the foundation of all learning. Children are gently supported to recognise and name emotions, practice sharing and turn-taking, resolve conflicts with guidance, and develop empathy and cooperation. Positive relationships and emotional safety are prioritised over compliance or performance.

Foundational Literacy & Numeracy (FLN)

Early literacy emerges through stories, conversations, rhymes, songs, picture exploration, and symbolic play. Numeracy is introduced through real-life experiences and play — sorting, matching, patterns, shapes, counting objects, puzzles, and blocks. Conceptual understanding is valued over memorisation.

Outdoor & Nature-Based Learning

Regular outdoor experiences connect children to the natural world. Outdoor play supports physical development, risk assessment, environmental awareness, and a sense of wonder. Nature becomes both classroom and playground — a space for discovery, movement, and connection.

Assessment Philosophy

At Vervidia, we do not believe in formal testing, worksheets, or performance-based assessments for young children.

Assessment is observation-based, developmental, and child-centered.

Teachers observe children during play, interactions, and daily routines. These observations are documented through notes, photographs, and portfolios that capture each child's growth, interests, strengths, and emerging skills.

Parents receive regular updates through informal conversations, parent-teacher meetings, and developmental portfolios — not report cards or grades.

"We assess to understand the child, not to judge the child."
